Principal’s Message
Welcome to St Mary of the Angels Primary School!
Welcome to St Mary of the Angels Catholic Primary School! It is with great joy that I extend a warm welcome to our students, families, and visitors. As Principal, I am proud to lead a school where we prioritise the holistic development of every child—academically, socially, and spiritually.
At St Mary of the Angels, we are part of the Armidale Catholic Schools ‘network’, which allows us to provide outstanding educational opportunities within contemporary, purpose-built facilities. Our learning spaces are designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, ensuring that our students are well-equipped to meet the challenges of the future.
We are committed to providing 21st-century learning opportunities that empower our students to think critically, solve problems, and engage in meaningful collaboration. Drawing on Armidale Catholic Schools Non-Negotiables and the pedagogical research of Lyn Sharratt, we embrace strategies that support deep learning and ensure that all students are challenged, supported, and engaged in their educational journey. Through our ‘everyday work’, we focus on the importance of student-centered learning, where we personalise the experience for each child and equip them with the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
Located in Guyra, our school is more than just a place of learning; it is a close-knit community where positive relationships between staff, students, and families are at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating an environment where respect, kindness, and encouragement are evident in all that we do. This strong sense of community helps our students to feel safe, valued, and supported, allowing them to thrive both academically and personally.
Our core Catholic Principles and Values are embedded throughout our school culture. Through this approach, we ensure that all students know they are safe, respected, and cared for, while also being encouraged to embrace the joys and challenges of learning to realise their hope-filled future.
We are dedicated to supporting each child’s individual growth and are excited to be part of their learning journey. I invite you to explore our website further and discover how St Mary of the Angels is helping shape the leaders of tomorrow.
